"Comfort, comfort my people, says your God" (Is 40:1). In Is 40: 9 we are told what the comfort is:  You who bring good news to Zion, say to the towns of Judah: “Here is your God!”

As Christians, we simply have to understand that God is light. In 1 John 1:5 we read, "This is the message we have heard from him (Jesus) and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."

Psalm 73: 26: “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
“My flesh and my heart may fail" defines despondency, meaning unhappiness, sadness, hopelessness and misery.

 Paul said, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." What do these words mean to you, for us? They are words of encouragement. They teach us that for those of us who know Christ as our life, to die is to gain.
