The Season of Advent is the first Season of the Christian Calendar.
During the four Sundays before Christmas – we remember that Jesus came to our world as a babe, that he is coming into our lives, churches and communities today - and that he will return to our world on the Day of the Lord.

On Sunday 22 November we have the privilege to join universal Christianity in celebrating “Christ the King Sunday”. On this last Sunday of the Christian calendar we consider everything we learned about Jesus Christ from Advent to this day of honouring Jesus of Nazareth as King, Head and source of life and power.

We gain courage to serve the Lord and boldness to serve others in his Name when we are not manipulated or intimidated by an unbelieving society, but draw our power from King Jesus, our risen Lord.

We are to share the love of God with the world that needs to put to death its selfishness, greed and anger.
We need to put on love, to become the grateful followers of our God who gave his best to us, even Jesus Christ, his Son and by loving him, share him with a desperately divided, angry society.
