The Word of God praises the role of the mind as an essential part of doing what is right and our growing through sanctification. Our faith emphasises the truth that how we behave and what we think (believe) influence each other. What we think and believe and what we do, act on each other.

Firstly that God will in grace receive all who repent of their sins, to partake of the Supper of our Lord Jesus Christ. And even when we realise that we are still weak and find it hard to live according to God’s will and law, we accept in faith that our human nature cannot prevent us to receive the food that Jesus, our Host at the table, wishes to share with us.

Holy Trinity Sunday is observed on the first Sunday after Pentecost.   After following the gospel events over the last 7 months, beginning with Advent and Christmas in December, we conclude this gospel journey on Trinity Sunday with the question:   Who is the God that so graciously saved and sanctified us?

Three of the most heartbreaking but realistic words in the New Testament is found in Luke 24: 21: “We had hoped.”  This expression says, “Our hope is dead.  It is a thing of the past.  It will not return to us”.
