Resurrection Sunday inspires every form of worship.

Resurrection Sunday, as the crown of all Christian worship, inspires every form of adoration and worship throughout the year. The Resurrection power of Jesus Christ is displayed when we pray, sing and express our adoration for our Lord and King. Celebrating and observing the Resurrection of Jesus Christ equips us to live for the glory of God every day of our lives, until the end and at the end!

Family worship during lock down should consist of reading the passages in the Gospels telling the resurrection stories, take turns to pray prayers of devotion, thanksgiving and adoration and sing a song or two to the glory of the almighty risen Christ.

Greet each other in the morning with the ancient greeting:

Christ is risen!

The response is: Christ is risen indeed!!

It always is the most inspirational holy day of celebration Christians can observe. Resurrection Sunday, and therefore every Sunday, is always a feast of worship and praise, because Jesus triumphed over death and over all our enemies.

The basic truth of Resurrection Sunday summarises the Gospel:

Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed!

During Eastertide reflect deeply on the many-sided meaning of our Lord’s resurrection:

•You can meditate on what his resurrection says about who Jesus Christ really is – the all powerful and righteous Son of God - (Psalm 16:10; Acts 2:25-28) and then, in his power, seek his life and his justice in your lie and through your life, for all people.

• Ask yourself what it means that the power and might of the risen Jesus is available to all Christians today (Ephesians 1:15-23).

• Try to find the meaning of the truth that “our death has been swallowed up in victory” (1 Corinthians 15:54-56).

• Think of how the resurrection of Jesus assures of our redemption, victory and our own resurrection (1 Corinthians 15).

Eastertide allows me to think deeply about what the resurrection of Jesus means to me personally, to the Church of Christ, to our nation and her challenges and to the whole wide world.

Let’s continue to keep watch with Jesus while the world rages against him and against his holy church on earth.

Let’s learn to live the resurrection life.

Because, Christ is risen indeed!!
