Holy Spirit gives us the mind of Christ.

Amazing news! We can and must know the thoughts of God!  Even though no one knows through human effort what the deepest, divine thoughts of God are - except the Holy Spirit.

If we allow ourselves to be led by the spirit/s of the world, in other words the thoughts, ideas and ideologies of the secular, unbelieving society, we too may fall into the traps that cause so much distress and the foolishness that plaque the world to death and cause the suffering of the peoples of the world.

We may personally suffer when we allow the foolishness of an unbelieving world to direct our lives and dictate to us what decisions we should make.

But, thanks be given to God, we do not have to fall into the traps of human error and misunderstanding.

We received the Holy Spirit who teaches us the thoughts of God. The Spirit shows us the wisdom of God and instructs us that we may speak the words of God.

The Holy Spirit gives us the mind of Christ.

Jesus Christ, the one Word of God we have to listen to and his priorities and teaching, comes to us by the Holy Spirit who also interprets the inspired Holy Scriptures for us and helps us to think about all matters of life and faith in accordance with the Gospel, yes in accordance with the mind of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

The believer, the student of Jesus Christ, having received the Holy Spirit, is not subject to merely human judgments about what is important, significant, wise and godly, because the Spirit gives us the mind of Christ!

Read 1 Corinthians 2: 10 – 16 for a better understanding of this profound truth:

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”

But we have the mind of Christ.’
